1. General Software Disclaimer
Chimeole POS is a business management and point-of-sale platform developed, maintained, and operated by Chimeole Software ("we", "us", or "our"). The application is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular commercial purpose, or non-infringement.
While we make every commercially reasonable effort to ensure system stability, uptime, data integrity, and computational precision across multi-tenant businesses, Chimeole Software does not warrant that the platform will be entirely uninterrupted, error-free, immune to local device malfunctions, or free from external telecommunication carrier delays.
2. Offline Mode & Local Data Synchronization
Chimeole POS provides an offline-first architecture utilizing browser IndexedDB local storage and Service Worker caching. When operating without an active internet connection:
- Sales transactions, cart totals, receipt records, and stock adjustments are temporarily buffered inside the local client terminal browser.
- Users are solely responsible for ensuring that local browser cache, storage partitions, or private browsing sessions are not cleared prematurely before synchronization with the central server has completed.
- Chimeole Software is not responsible for data loss arising from browser history purges, aggressive browser cleaners, corrupted operating system drives, or ungraceful terminal hardware crashes prior to automated background sync.
3. Payment Processing & Third-Party Gateways
Chimeole POS integrates with licensed payment providers, including Paystack and local Nigerian bank transfer channels, for card processing, USSD, and online storefront checkouts:
- Chimeole Software is not a bank, deposit-taking institution, or merchant of record. Financial settlements, transaction reversals, chargebacks, processing fees, and dispute resolutions are governed by the merchant's direct agreement with the respective payment gateway provider.
- We do not store complete credit/debit card numbers, CVV security codes, or banking PINs on our servers. All sensitive cardholder tokenization is securely handled by Paystack's PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure.
- Business owners must verify bank settlements directly through their registered payment gateway merchant portals.
4. Hardware & Peripheral Compatibility
Chimeole POS is designed to interface with standard retail hardware, including 58mm/80mm thermal receipt printers (ESC/POS), USB/Bluetooth barcode scanners, cash drawers, and kitchen display monitors:
- Hardware performance, driver configurations, Bluetooth pairing stability, paper jams, and thermal printhead wear are the sole responsibility of the hardware manufacturer and the store operator.
- Chimeole Software provides standard browser print profiles and ESC/POS thermal formatting but does not manufacture the physical printer hardware.
5. Tax, Accounting & Regulatory Compliance
The accounting, expense tracking, tax calculations (e.g., VAT, state consumption taxes), profit/loss calculations, and cashier float audits provided within Chimeole POS are computational tools designed to assist business administration:
- They do not constitute professional accounting, financial, investment, or legal tax advice.
- Business owners are strictly responsible for configuring their applicable tax rates, declaring accurate gross earnings to national (e.g., FIRS) and state tax authorities, and retaining mandated fiscal audit records.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Chimeole Software, its directors, developers, employees, or partners be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, loss of sales revenue, inventory discrepancies, business interruption, loss of goodwill, or loss of operational data resulting from:
- The use of or inability to use the platform.
- Network downtime or power outages at your business premises.
- Unauthorized access to staff accounts resulting from shared or weak passwords.
- Third-party gateway delays or banking network transmission faults.
